Who are we?
Union Life Limited is a registered life insurer that conducts the business of providing policy benefits under assistance and life policies. The Company was registered on the 27th December 1935 as Road Funeral Undertakers. The name later changed to HTG Life in March 1993 when we wrote the first insurance policy. The Company was eventually changed to Union Life on the 31st January 2008.
The board of Union Life is comprised of sufficient balance between Executive and Non-Executive Directors. The main purpose of Union Life board is to assist executives with strategy development. Every quarter the board evaluates performance of the organization against approved strategy.
The Audit and Risk Committee meets at the minimum four (4) times a year. We are regulated by the Financial Services Board through the Long Term Insurance Act. The committee is chaired by an independent non-executive director. The audit and risk committee provides oversight over internal controls and risk management principles
Executive Committee oversees the day to day running of Union Life.
